Welcome to my first ever blog post! Hope your 2019 is off to a good start. As for my 2019, you will see (in upcoming blogs) that it has already been pretty wild.
So who am I, what am I writing, and why should you read it?
Well, let’s get the most important thing out of the way: who am I?
My name is Che, and I am a photographer in the lovely (except when it’s on fire) northern California. I am also pursuing a Ph.D in Economics at the University of California, Davis. I graduated college in summer 2018, bought my first DSLR, started learning photography, got addicted (the good way) in November, and created the first image that I am proud of just last week.
So here I am, clear eyes and full hearts. But this website was totally a spur of the moment thing. I wanted more than a phone screen’s space that Instagram provides to showcase the photos I am proud of. Hence was born this website. If you haven’t, be sure to check out some of my photos!
Now you know a bit of my story, so what am I going to write, and what am I hoping to achieve with this blog?
If you had asked me even just a week ago, I would’ve never told you that I would be writing a blog. But my San Francisco trip has been so wild and exciting that I feel a strong urge to share my stories with the world, so that’s the primary motivation for me. That’s not all, though. Ever since I got deep into photography, I’ve been learning and thinking about the meaning of it as an art form. Photography has given me a new way of looking at this world, and I have gained a new perspective on photography as well. So I would like to share with you my thoughts and perspectives on photography, and most importantly, my love for it. Along the way, I will also share with you photography tips that I find useful, from the creative process to post processing to gear, and hopefully help you learn and improve your photography together with me.
In summary, if you like travel and stories, or enjoy photography, or simply want to read something for fun, this blog is for you.
If you’ve stayed with me until now, thank you! I’ll keep this relatively short, and think this is a good place to stop since apparently I haven’t bored you yet. In my next blog post, I will be writing about great places to see and photograph the Golden Gate Bridge, so stay tuned for that!
So I'll say goodbye for now, and here’s to our many adventures together in this world and the world of photography!
